

While Worm’s character work was good for the genre, it wasn’t why I read Worm.

That is not to say that Worm had weak characterizations, or Ward had no fantastically written fight scenes, because neither of those things are true.īut the character work in Ward is just masterful, I consider it to be really good in general. I’ve felt that at some points too, as Wildbow’s tendency to meander during interludes are still there, even if the interludes in general are better this time, more unique, more hard-hitting on their own.īut in my perspective, while Worm focused on large-scale escalations/engaging battle scenes, Ward is more of a character(s)-study compared to Worm. Some people say that Ward is slower and more boring, which is a fair statement, No, this isn’t like Worm at all, despite the fact that it features a lot of the same characters.
